Fabric and Aftercare

Lyocell

Lyocell is a natural man-made fiber, made from wood cellulose. That is obtained from sustainable tree farms. This fabric has a versatile use, it can be used to design various styles of garments (shorts, dresses, shirts, etc) Lyocell, is soft, silky and breathable. It is a highly absorbent material, which is perfect for humid climate. The fabric gives every design a beautiful appearance because of its smooth and soft surface. It is 100% biodegradable and is perfect for you and the environment.

Conscious Aftercare:

  • Hand wash/ machine wash at 40
  • Iron on reverse side
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Wash dark colors separately  

 

Hemp

Hemp is considered to be a “super fiber”. It has triple the strength of cotton and is an extremely sturdy fabric. This fabric protects you from the sun with its UV resistance qualities. It has carbon negative properties, which, has no effect on the environment. The material is super soft and lightweight. And is ideal for a hot summer day. Hemp fabric can be easily transformed into a beautiful garment.

Conscious Aftercare:

  • Hand wash / machine wash cold
  • Warm iron if needed
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Wash dark colors separately

 

Peace silk

Peace silk is also known as Ahimsa Silk literally meaning non-violence silk. Unlike conventional silk, Peace silk is made from abandoned silk worm cocoons. When the moth hatches, it breaks the silk thread that protects the pupa. Artisans have to carefully unwind the thread from the cocoon and weave them together. It is biodegradable and can also be recycled. Silk has temperature regulating properties.

Conscious Aftercare:

  • Dry clean
  • Wash separately
  • Cold hand wash
  • Do Not bleach
  • Iron on the reverse
  • Do Not tumble dry

 

Recycled Polyester

The process of turning PET (polyethylene terephthalate) into recycled polyester requires much less energy than making virgin polyester. It is a strong fabric and wrinkle resistant which makes it popular amongest the consumers. This fabric can be recycled numerous times to produce an equally strong fabric. This results in smaller carbon footprints on the Earth.

Conscious Aftercare:

  • Warm machine wash
  • Cool iron
  • Dry clean
  • Do not bleach
  • Tumble dry on low heat

 

Bamboo

Bamboo grows 10X more yield than cotton without any pesticides or GMOs. The fabric is super soft, silky, and breathable. Clothing made from this fabric last longer and even holds its shape better than other fibers. Bamboo is a smart fabric; it warms you up and cools you down quickly.

Conscious Aftercare:

  • Delicate machine wash cold/ hand wash with gentle soap
  • Air or line dry
  • Do Not bleach
  • Warm iron
  • Do not dry clean

 

Organic Cotton

Organic cotton is a great Eco-friendly fabric. It is grown without any pesticides, herbicides and toxic chemicals. Growing organic fibers is safe for the environment and the people. Since organic cotton is not stripped of its natural wax, when woven together it is seamlessly smooth. This gives the fabric a soft and smooth finish. This fabric is highly moisture absorbent and is gentle on the skin.

Conscious Aftercare:

  • Machine wash cold
  • Do Not tumble dry
  • Do not soak
  • Do not bleach
  • Warm iron

 

Organic Non-Toxic Dyes and Chemicals

Synthetic dyes used by the fashion industry is extremely harmful to our Environment. These Azo dyes contain carcinogen, a harmful chemical that causes cancer. In most countries dyes that contain azo are banned. We make sure to use dyes that are not harmful to you or the environment. Dyes used by us are organic, non-toxic and Azo free.
