Quarantine is a weird time to be in and not being able to head outside is probably one of the most stifling things for us right now. The only thing we are in absolute control of is our viewing choices and the kind of content we consume can affect our mood for the better or worse. While some comforting comedy sitcoms are always recommended, we have lined up some of the best fashion reality series on the web for those of you who are currently yearning for some creative stimulation.
Hosted by lovely Tan France and Alexa Chung, 18 globally acclaimed designers go head to head with one another on this energetic reality show that will leave you wanting to finish the entire season in one sitting. Presented with exciting challenges themed around punk-rock, military, athleisure among many more with elite designer guests offering their expert feedback like Prabal Gurung, Christopher Kane and Tommy Hilfiger to name a few — this show is a treat for every fashion lover out there.

The iconic duo, Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum of Project Runway fame are back with their new fashion reality series where 12 designers from around the globe fight it out to win a whopping $1 million for their brand. The winning look of each challenge is up for sale on Amazon immediately after the winner is announced giving the designers a chance at global exposure. The format is similar to that of Project Runway’s heydays with Tim offering his expertise to each contestant during the design development phase and Heidi offering them their final goodbye. This show is perfect for those of you who miss this iconic host duo.

This list wouldn’t be complete without an honourable mention to Project Runway, one of the first fashion reality series to hit all out television sets and the longest running yet. The hosts and judges may have been shuffled a lot over the years, but the creativity levels are still high. In it’s 18th season, the show is now hosted by supermodel Karlie Kloss with mentor and celebrated designer Christian Siriano who had his successful career launch on this very show with Nina Garcia as one of the judges — perhaps the only constant figure since the show got its start. While Heidi Klum’s iconic German ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ goodbye is certainly missed, the show is still worth a watch even if it means revisiting some of the older seasons.

Sometimes, really good shows get canceled but they’re always worth a visit. Such is the case for the House of DVF that premiered in 2014 that was really ahead of its time. Diane Von Furstenburg went on a hunt to search for the next “global brand ambassador” for her brand aka a fashion influencer (imagine the relevance of a show like this today). The show has some real moments of drama that don’t seem scripted at all along with some genuine nuggets of wisdom from the legendary DVF herself.

If you have an innate love for cosplay, creativity, lip sync battles and some fabulous pageantry then RuPaul’s Drag Race is a must watch. Touted as the lovechild of America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, this show has drag queens competing from around the world for the coveted title of ‘America’s Next Drag Superstar’. This show aims at pushing the boundaries of gender and sexuality through drag while filling it with makeup, glamour, fashion, and making people laugh.
